Outer Banks Swinging Mullets Add Belhaven Pitcher Brayden Gillies to 2026 Roster

Brayden Gillies

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets have announced the addition of Brayden Gillies, a pitcher from Belhaven University, to the team’s 2026 summer collegiate roster.

Gillies is a Hammond, Louisiana native and St. Thomas Aquinas High School graduate who continues to develop at the collegiate level with the Belhaven Blazers. Public Belhaven roster information identifies him as a freshman pitcher and recent game coverage shows him already contributing in bullpen appearances for the program.

Before college, Gillies developed as a right-handed pitching prospect in Louisiana, with a recruiting profile that listed a fastball up to 85 mph and complementary offspeed pitches, while also competing for Club Nola Baseball.

“Brayden is another arm we’re excited to bring into the mix this summer,” said Mikey Reynolds, Head Coach of the Outer Banks Swinging Mullets. “He’s continuing to grow at the college level, and summer ball gives him a great chance to keep building confidence and experience.”

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets compete in the Old North State League (ONSL) and play home games at First Flight High School’s Baseball Complex, offering fans a fun, affordable, family-friendly baseball experience throughout the summer.
