Outer Banks Swinging Mullets Add Belhaven Pitcher Cole Covington to 2026 Roster

Cole Covington

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets continue to build athletic depth on the mound for the 2026 season with the addition of Cole Covington, a pitcher from Belhaven University.

A native of Amite, Louisiana, Covington brings a strong competitive foundation to the Mullets after developing at Oak Forest Academy, where he stood out as a three-sport athlete in baseball, football, and basketball. That kind of multi-sport background speaks to the athleticism, toughness, and versatility he now brings to the college game.

At Belhaven, Covington has already started earning meaningful innings at the collegiate level. In a recent outing against Hardin-Simmons, he came out of the bullpen and delivered two scoreless innings, showing the ability to settle in and compete in an important spot.

“Cole gives us another athletic arm with real upside,” said Mikey Reynolds, Head Coach of the Outer Banks Swinging Mullets. “His background shows up in the way he competes, and we’re excited to get him into our environment this summer and help him keep developing.”

Covington joins a growing group of arms on the 2026 roster as the Swinging Mullets prepare for another competitive summer in the Old North State League.

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets compete in the Old North State League (ONSL)  and play home games at First Flight High School’s Baseball Complex, providing fans with a fun, affordable, and family-friendly summer baseball experience on the Outer Banks.
