Outer Banks Swinging Mullets Add INF Jose A. Ruiz to 2026 Roster

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets are pleased to announce the addition of middle infielder José A. Ruiz for the 2026 summer collegiate season.

Ruiz, a student-athlete at King University, brings quickness, defensive reliability, and a high-energy style of play to the Mullets roster. The 5’5”, 155-pound infielder bats and throws right and is expected to contribute up the middle this summer.

Known for his agility and instincts, Ruiz plays with a competitive edge and the ability to make plays in key moments. His athleticism and approach to the game allow him to impact both the defensive and offensive sides of play.

“José is the type of player who brings energy every time he steps on the field,” said Head Coach Mikey Reynolds. “He’s quick, he competes, and he gives you strong defense up the middle. Those are guys that help you win games.”

Ruiz joins the Mullets as part of a growing roster focused on versatility, athleticism, and competitive depth heading into the 2026 season.

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets compete in the Old North State League (ONSL) and host home games at First Flight High School’s Baseball Complex, offering a fun, affordable, and family-friendly experience for both locals and visitors throughout the summer.
