Outer Banks Swinging Mullets Add Infielder/Pitcher Luke Blaydes to 2026 Roster

Luke Blaydes

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets are proud to announce the addition of Luke Blaydes, an infielder and pitcher from Guilford College, to the team’s 2026 summer collegiate roster.

Blaydes, a native of Charleston, West Virginia, brings a versatile skill set to the Mullets lineup. A product of Charleston Catholic High School, Luke established himself as a consistent contributor both at the plate and in the field before continuing his baseball career at Guilford College, a respected NCAA Division III program competing in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

“At every level Luke has played, he’s shown the ability to impact the game with his bat and his work ethic on both sides of the ball,” said Head Coach Mikey Reynolds. “We’re excited to see him bring that competitive mindset to the OBX and grow with our group this summer.”

During his time at Charleston Catholic, Blaydes recorded consistent offensive production and contributed to key varsity wins before transitioning to the collegiate game with the Guilford Quakers. His high-level approach and willingness to compete make him a welcome addition to the Mullets’ roster as they prepare for the upcoming season.

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets compete in the Old North State League (ONSL) and play home games at First Flight High School’s Baseball Complex, providing fans with an exciting, family-friendly summer baseball experience.
