Outer Banks Swinging Mullets Add Local Utility Player McCoy James to 2026 Roster

James, a freshman at Robeson Community College, brings versatility and a strong local connection to the Mullets roster. A native of Buxton, North Carolina, the 5’9”, 180-pound athlete bats left and throws right, giving the team flexibility across multiple positions.

A true Outer Banks product, James developed his game locally and now returns home to compete in front of the community that helped shape his baseball journey. His familiarity with the area and team-first approach make him a natural fit for the Mullets’ culture.

At the collegiate level, James continues to refine his all-around game, focusing on consistency at the plate and defensive adaptability. His ability to contribute in multiple roles adds valuable depth to the Mullets lineup this summer.

“McCoy is exactly the kind of player we love bringing in,” said Head Coach Mikey Reynolds. “He’s local, he’s versatile, and he understands what it means to represent this area. He’s going to bring energy every day.”

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets compete in the Old North State League (ONSL) and host home games at First Flight High School’s Baseball Complex, offering a fun, affordable, and family-friendly experience for both locals and visitors throughout the summer.
