Outer Banks Swinging Mullets Add Hillsdale Pitcher Nate Albanese to 2026 Roster

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets have announced the addition of Nate Albanese, a pitcher from Hillsdale College, to the team’s 2026 summer collegiate roster.
Albanese comes to the Outer Banks after a standout high school career at Aurora High School in Aurora, Ohio, where he developed into a power right-handed arm and helped lead his team against strong competition in Ohio’s largest baseball classification. In his senior season, he posted a 1.24 ERA while limiting opponents to a .056 batting average against, establishing himself as a highly regarded prep pitcher.
He later joined the Hillsdale College program, where he redshirted in 2025 and entered 2026 with four seasons of eligibility remaining. Hillsdale’s preseason coverage identified Albanese as one of the young arms expected to make an impact after missing time, underscoring the program’s belief in his potential on the mound.
“Nate has the kind of size and upside that gets your attention right away,” said Mikey Reynolds, Head Coach of the Outer Banks Swinging Mullets. “He’s built a strong foundation, and we’re excited to see him keep developing and competing this summer.”
In addition to his baseball accomplishments, Albanese played travel ball with the Midwest Stars and graduated Summa Cum Laude with AP Scholar distinction.
The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets compete in the Old North State League (ONSL) and play home games at First Flight High School’s Baseball Complex, offering fans a fun, family-friendly summer baseball experience throughout the season.
