Outer Banks Swinging Mullets Announce Coaching Staff Led by Former MLB Draft Pick Mikey Reynolds

MLB Experience, Division I Roots, and Player Development at the Core

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets are excited to unveil their full coaching staff for the 2026 summer collegiate baseball season, led by Head Coach and Hitting Coach Mikey Reynolds. With professional playing experience, a strong passion for player development, and a commitment to community engagement, the coaching staff is poised to build a competitive, high-energy program both on and off the field.

Mikey Reynolds brings a wealth of baseball experience to the Mullets organization. A native of Kingston, Pennsylvania, Reynolds played collegiate baseball at Texas A&M University, competing at one of the highest levels of NCAA Division I competition before being drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the fifth round of the 2013 MLB Draft. He also had stints with the St. Louis Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks organizations, and played extensively in independent leagues, earning a reputation as a dynamic offensive player and base-stealer.

After his professional playing career, Reynolds transitioned into coaching and most recently served as Hitting Coach for the Lexington Legends of the Atlantic League. He is known for his deep knowledge of hitting mechanics, game strategy, and player mentorship. Reynolds’ passion for developing young talent and his infectious energy make him a natural leader for the Swinging Mullets.

“Mikey is exactly the kind of coach who can help players take that next step in their development,” said Jim Price, owner of the Outer Banks Swinging Mullets. “His experience, enthusiasm, and focus on teaching will be invaluable to our players this season and beyond.”

The Outer Banks Swinging Mullets will continue competing in the Old North State League’s Tidewater Division, facing teams including the Edenton Steamers, New Bern Southpaws, River City Skippers, Tarboro River Bandits and Roanoke Rapids. Home games will be played at First Flight High School’s Baseball Complex providing an intimate and energetic setting for summer baseball.

With the 2026 season approaching, the organization is actively recruiting collegiate players from across the country, finalizing its coaching staff, and expanding community initiatives such as host family programs, youth engagement, and themed game nights. Fans can expect exciting promotions, special events, local food trucks, and creative in-game experiences that make each home game more than just baseball. It is a night out on the Outer Banks.

The Swinging Mullets remain committed to offering affordable, family-friendly entertainment while strengthening connections with local businesses, organizations, and fans throughout the region.
